Why Honeybee & Chickadee? Besides sounding incredibly cute, both are in Melissa's rather long list of favorite animals. And, the name Melissa is Greek for honeybee. Honeybees are incredibly efficient in creating hexagonal comb to store their precious honey. Chickadees also store an incredible amount of seeds each fall (80,000!) and rely on their excellent memory to be able to find everything they've stored. Honeybee & Chickadee's mission is to help you store your most important and oftentimes precious belongings in a functional way so you'll be able to find what you're looking for when you're looking for it.
Functional organizing may not always be particularly beautiful to look at, but it will surely be beautiful to you when your space functions for you and how you live your life.
Growing up, Melissa was constantly organizing various collections and toys. As an over-involved student, being organized was critical to managing it all. Throughout her time working in healthcare, retail, federal service, and hospitality, she strove to bring order to chaos through process and organization, helping patients, customers, visitors, guests, and colleagues.
After realizing her unique position to help others with their organization challenges, Melissa created Honeybee & Chickadee. Inspired to help others struggling with storage and organization in a way that works for each person individually or for a family collectively, she approaches organizing challenges with patience and grace.
